Sleep
Falling into rest
I walk the dream path again
Strange stories to tell.
Summer Sleeping Haiku
Sweat trickles, tickles,
The humid air a blanket,
Heavier than dreams.
They think I'm asleep
but I am stalking my prey
in the land of dreams
When you get older,
Sleep can be hard to come by.
Elusive Pillow
There’s a holy place
The whole world to hide and rest
And let it be that
Head on my pillow
Streaming through the blue heavens
Sleep brings comfort to my mind
Tossing and turning
Counting breaths puts you at ease
Restless nights vanish
The drifting away
The quiet oblivion
Then awakening
Can't sleep. Brain whirring,
Overthinking everything.
Finally, I drift off...
This photo looks like my late soulmate. 💜
That sweet moment
of landing on a soft dreamy cloud
you can walk on water or fly high
what a magical place
There’s nothing quite like
Deep healing blessed slumber
Restorative sleep

Brains know innately:
In the quiet of the night
The best work happens
Spent and weary I am beat
White of the sheets beg
Surrender horizontal
beautiful
As someone who's dealt with insomnia/night terrors, your haiku is precious to me!
Here's mine:
eyes closed in my bed
God treads where I lay my head
I sleep with no dread
Falling into rest
I walk the dream path again
Strange stories to tell.
